Incorporated in 2017, Simangaye Consulting (Pty) Ltd is a 100% black owned and managed private company operating in the heart of Durban, KwaZulu Natal. As a brainchild of Dr. Xolani Fakude, Simangaye Consulting is the culmination of a young 14 year old Xolani Fakude’s persistent fascination and obsession with how the mind works and what psychologically drives people to do the things they do.

As a result of this passion, Dr Fakude embarked on his journey into Psychology and completed his B. Psych Degree at the University of Zululand. As a result of his passion for people and understanding how the mind works, when the time came to pursue his Masters’ degree, the logical choice was to pursue his Masters in Educational Psychology. Working as an Educational Psychologist would allow him to look deeper into the mind and how it works, and working towards understanding, preventing, and relieving psychologically based distress or dysfunction and to promote subjective well-being and personal development. Given Dr Fakude’s intrinsic motivation to contribute in the development of the field of psychology, he further pursued his PhD in Educational Psychology with the University of KwaZulu-Natal.

Since qualifying, Dr Fakude has worked in the corporate world within Durban for 7 years and has practiced as both an assessor and therapist. Dr Fakude’s passion is to understand human behaviour and cognitive development from childhood through lifespan, how it works and how it develops. It was against this passion that Simangaye Consulting (PTY) LTD was established.
